General Luna does not have a large supermarket, so locals and long-stay travelers shop in a mix of places. The General Luna Public Market in Poblacion has the cheapest fresh produce, fish and basic supplies — go early, because the best stalls sell out by mid-morning.
For packaged goods, drinks and toiletries when the market is closed, a mini-grocery with fixed prices is the easy fallback. Dotted along Tourism Road and through the puroks you will also find plenty of sari-sari stores — tiny neighborhood shops selling water, snacks, sachets and load. They are handy for small top-ups and many also do GCash cash-in for small amounts.
There are pharmacies in General Luna for everyday basics — pain relief, first aid, plasters, motion-sickness tablets and reef-safe sunscreen. Stock is reliable for common items but limited for anything specific, so if you take regular medication it is safest to bring your own supply from the city.
Bring cash. Pharmacy card machines are often down, and a cash payment is always accepted. For anything urgent or beyond basic first aid, ask your accommodation about the nearest clinic.
Laundry shops here charge per kilo and many offer same-day wash-dry-fold if you drop your bag off in the morning. Most accept GCash as well as cash. It is an easy, cheap way to travel light.
For drinking water, do not rely on the tap — it is not safe to drink. Instead, bring your own bottle or gallon to a water refilling station. Refills cost only a few pesos and are far cheaper than buying bottled water, while cutting down on plastic. You can find laundry shops and refill stations on the stores page.
